GETTING STARTED

This project uses freemotion embroidery to create a swirly stitch pattern on the cat’s party hat. To work this technique, you’ll need to drop the feed dogs of your machine and, ideally, use a freemotion (AKA darning) foot – however, this isn’t essential. Once the feed dogs are lowered, set your machine to work a straight stitch and slowly move your felt around under the needle as you sew – the lack of feed
