As one of the last surviving members of the once illustrious medical and scientific family of Goodsir, it gives me great pleasure to add my perspective on the logarithmic (equiangular) spiral and the importance it held for my kinsman, the esteemed Professor of Anatomy of the University of Edinburgh, John Goodsir.
