Phil Chen

October 21, 1946 – December 14, 2021

Jamaican-born and of Chinese descent, Phil Chen was a prolific session bassist whose CV included Jeff Beck, Rod Stewart, Eric Clapton, Ray Charles and Bob Marley. In the 80s Chen was a member of Star Fleet Project, a short-lived supergroup formed by Brian May and Edward Van Halen. Chen was 75 years old when he lost a battle with cancer.
