What does the PGA Tour’s grand plan mean for golf?

For the 2023 season, the PGA Tour will increase the number of ‘elevated’ events on the circuit by four to a total of 12 (these four are as yet unnamed). These events will carry a minimum purse of $20 million. The top 20 players in the Player Impact Program (PIP) are committed to playing them and a total of at least 20 PGA Tour events through the season.
