Power play!

Let’s rewind… Last summer I bought this – aBMW R1150 RT. It had just 29,550 on the clocks and I got it for £1900.

Happy days! This was to be my beast of burden and my mile-muncher. I could see by the small amounts of grubbiness and light surface rust on some nuts and bolts that it had been stored outside at some time in its life, but the general wear and tear was low. One big thing was a righthand broken mirror (I think the lower lug was snapped) so adhesion/fitting was aided by silver duct tape under the mirror/ indicator unit.

Late last year, with my Yamaha Tracer 9 GT being scheduled for return, I realised that it was time to get some new boots on the bike as she’d be needed. Now, the Continental Road Attack
