Make do and…

Wouldn’t it be nice if things went according to plan? Don’t answer that, it’s rhetorical, and besides, nothing ever goes to plan, does it? Case in point, the 55-year-old Stingray.

On its first ride out it started and scampered along quite well, but it didn’t like those hills! Oh, and the clutch dragged a bit and the brakes were crap and the steering head bearings were a bit loose and although fuel use was quite frugal (thank God at the price it is now) it did get through a fair bit of two-stroke; stuff to do here methinks.

First off I pluck the baffles from their hidey holes and they’re mucky; two days ago they were mint, so how come they’re so manky? Considering
