Odds and sods #2!

Just a few bits to look at now so let me start with one obvious fault: the gear pedal was a rather strange shape (Photo 1).

This no doubt happened at the same time as the other bits got bent, which we have seen. Worse was the condition of the fixing splines (Photo 2) so it would need to be replaced – discounting welding it on, which I have seen. Instead, here is a pattern item which came from Germany (Photo 3) and though not quite of the genuine Honda standard, is more than adequate.

The trouble was that the corresponding splines onWhat a pity that people cannot get round to tightening fixing bolts properly, and just ignore obvious faults. A stitch in time, as they say.
