THE GREATEST SHOWMAN

If you don’t turn around and look back at your car after you’ve parked it, you’ve got the wrong car. That’s a pretty solid mantra for us all to carry with us. There are cars that thrive and flourish on the passion of their owners which will always elicit a cheeky over-the-shoulder glance as the driver walks away, and there are others that are simply functional and devoid of emotion – say, the base model 1.0 Corsas bought from Cargiant – which are merely appliances. Lock it and leave. And it’s because you’re of the former persuasion that you’re reading this magazine. It’s more than just a machine, isn’t it? It’s an emotional connection.

“Every component has been replaced - fixings, bushes, seals, glass, the lot”

SILVER JUBILEE

Now, this effervescent passion comes from the personalities that we bestow upon our cars, through the effort that goes into making them unique. Of course it does. But you can give yourself a real leg up if you start with an aspirational projectangle that Mike Brown has taken is to start at the top of the tree, then shoot for the stars. The shimmering vision in silver that you see before you started life as a 1984 Mini 25 – itself a pretty desirable entity these days. Of course, quite a lot’s happened to it since, and Mike’s artful reimagining has created something truly otherworldly. A unique and mouldbreaking creation to properly shake up the show scene.
