SUZUKI Bandit 600

SWINGING ARM

Being constructed from steel and having a very thin coat of paint, it is susceptible to rust, particularly on the underside and around the shock linkage area. Ironically, this will probably be worse on a bike that’s been kept clean as this area will be devoid of water-repelling chain lube and oil.

HEADER PIPES

In a quest to reduce noise levels, the Bandit has a twin wall exhaust system, but as the chromework is rather thin, especially around the collector, it is something of a rust trap. There are numerous aftermarket options, with the Delkevic systems having a good reputation for fit.

AFTERMARKET PARTS

Thanks to its popularity with the aftermarket, it’ll be rare to find a Bandit that is factory standard nowadays. Popular with the ‘anodised fasteners brigade’, most will have had the exhaust end can, the bars, indicators and rear mudguard/undertray changed.
