MIGUEL LLOBET

ON VIDEO

Miguel Llobet is one of the most influential classical guitarists to have emerged from the early 20th century. A concert performer and former student of one Francisco Tarrega (GT251, GT330) Llobet is perhaps best known for ‘that’ arrangement of the piano piece Asturias (Leyanda) by fellow Catalonian Isaac Albeniz, which to this day remains one of the most performed concert pieces in the classical guitar’s vast repertoire. Its popularity was mostly aided by Andres Segovia who chose to play many of Llobet’s compositions and arrangements.
