Frequensator

The Frequensator tailpiece was designed and a patent filed by Epiphone in 1937, and is a portmanteau of ‘frequency’ and ‘compensator’. The idea is the string lengths are offset, allowing for longer bass-string and shorter high-string lengths, in turn highlighting their fundamental frequencies.

Hang on, I thought the Noel Gallagher guitar was an expensive Gibson. What’s the story?

Well, you’re correct. But the Gibson Custom, featured a recently-on-the-dole Gallagher playing an Epiphone Les Paul. Fast-forward a couple of years and the newly minted Oasis chief was still rocking an Epiphone in the video for. This time, though, it was a Riviera. It’s this guitar that forms the foundation for Noel’s ‘other’ signature model, and we’re excited that not only is this signature a lot more affordable, but it’s a legitimate part of one of Oasis’s biggest anthems.
