Fuelled by the success of that album, both from the point of view of public interest and the musical synergy both displayed during its course, a sequel seemed a foregone conclusion. Meanwhile, Robben’s landmark solo record, Pure [2021] was garnering high praise from all who heard it. Here, we discuss Robben’s new collaboration and take a look at his approach to improvisation and his plans to take time out from touring.
