hen I called Jeff Shadbolt of Dunton Scooters to tell him Den Davis (the chap responsible for the massive Jam exhibitions in London and Liverpool and currently curating the bijou exhibition Jam Cover Stars in The Royal Pavilion in Brighton Museum till January 2023) and I were going to Brighton to interview Russell and Bruce of From The Jam, the conversation went the way of: “Wouldn’t it be nice to get them pictured on scoots there?” Indeed, it would. All I needed was a brace of scoots for said photo shoot, and Jeff said: “Leave it with me.” So I did. True to form, he appeared on the day with a pair of beauties. One of the scooters belonged to Mr Mark Fowler of Nottingham, who just so happened to have his birthday on the day of the shoot and remarked that he’d had his birthday made for him, his scoot going in the magazine and it also being modelled by Mr Bassline Foxton himself.
