SHINING EXAMPLES

I WHOLEHEARTEDLY agree with Joanna Dobson’s sentiment about riding school ponies (letters, 13 October).

Four of my nine riding school ponies qualified recently for the unaffiliated dressage championships at the Grange Equestrian Centre in Devon.

It was the end of the summer, so they had all been ridden by every type of rider over the holidays, from complete novices upwards.

They absolutely rose to the occasion
