HOYT FORMULA XD RISER
The latest evolution of the Formula brand is perhaps not a radical departure designwise. It’s firmly in the lineage of previous risers, but without the more pronounced open ‘basket’ ends around the limb pockets of the Xi riser. It’s certainly sleeker, and recognisably Hoyt. The geometry has changed slightly, and the grip has been shifted slightly lower, with the goal of improved stability at full draw and a more forgiving and consistent shot.
The XD comes with a weight pocket on each end to assist balancing the bow up and down — these can be removed and adjusted. Each riser comes with two 1oz weights as standard — one in the top, one in the bottom, but you can put both at one end if you need to. Hoyt says that putting both weights in the bottom will rebalance the riser to make it more like the ‘classic’ Hoyt geometry.
Each limb pocket also comes with a ‘360 damper’ made of tough rubber, designed to work like
