A sunrise to remember

A smart man once told me, "If you have the chance, you gotta camp up on top of Mt Kyeburn, you can't beat the views - or the stars!" He has spent a lot of time exploring central Otago so I have held onto that little tidbit of information for a few years now. I have even tried to put his advice to use twice but have been turned back by poor weather and truck problems.

Well, it was time to try to put the advice to use again as Dave (4WD persona "Big D") and I decided to take our rigs down to Otago for a trip through the Otaeke Conservation area. This was going to be Big D's first real trip in his new (to him) 1993 Mitsubishi Pajero. With his Safari recently stolen he had now seen the light and bought a high roof Paj virtually identical to mine - the pinnacle of 4WD performance!
