Quirky’ is the word Gabrielle Armstrong uses to describe the house in North Wales that she shares with husband Trevor Ruddle. Located in a small hamlet in Flintshire, Bryn Bellan was built during the late-Georgian period. It underwent alterations during the Victorian era, when bay windows were added and, in 1902, it was enlarged to create a 12-bedroom property. This same passage of time can also be seen in the tranquil, two-level garden, with the remains of a carriage turning circle now forming a semicircular sunken lawn in front of the house, over which a stately Sequoiadendron giganteum, commonly known as wellingtonia, casts beautiful shadows.
