A new portrait exhibition pays homage to the icons of our time

Working out of a creative arts centre in South Australia, Yankunytjatjara artist Kaylene Whiskey translates the melodic voices that fill her studio to the canvas. “I love listening to music while I’m working; the music gives me ideas magazine. “I might be listening to Tina Turner and that reminds me of when she was in the movie . [It] was filmed in the outback and looks just like Indulkana, so I started thinking about what it might be like if Tina came to my community.”
