WE all want to do the best for our horses, which will include health interventions. But our horses are not always compliant unsurprisingly, as they have no concept of what we are trying to achieve when we give oral treatments, apply fly spray or anything else we might need to do.

This lack of compliance at best negatively affects horse-owner relationships, and at worst can result in injury to either party. In one study, more than 80% of vets had been injured within the past five years by a horse they were trying to treat.
