ALTHOUGH THEY’D BEEN friends since university, sparks didn’t fly between Kate Brow and John Murdoch until he returned from a trip overseas. When the career break motivated John, a former accountant, to return to his family farm in country New South Wales, Kate noticed a change in him – and her own feelings. “He started to tell me about all his plans for the farm,” she explains. “I’d never seen anyone so passionate or invigorated. I knew straight away that I would marry him.”
