‘Chloe has made a difference in all of our lives’

My playful dog Chloe jumps gently into my mum Thelma’s lap. Almost instantly, Mum’s face lights up. ‘What a good girl,’ she says.
Since Mum, now 80, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2021, she has become more stressed and often loses her words. But Chloe’s presence always helps her to relax. We welcomed Chloe into our family as a puppy in the summer of 2014 – she’s a spaniel-poodle cross and is gorgeous.
