An 11-year-old boy’s sixth sense (he makers Laika. Ten years on from its original release it’s a lively and, yes, spirited watch that’s sure to get you in a Halloween kind of mood. But strip away the nods to ’80s slasher pictures, vintage creature features and George A. Romero’s classics and you’re left with an extended episode whose characters do eventually wear out their welcome. Which is a shame, as it held great initial promise.
