PCSpecialist Aurora Spark R

SCORE

PRICE £449 (£539 inc VAT) from pcspecialist.co.uk/reviews

The moment you switch on the Aurora Spark R, one thing becomes obvious: this is a speedy machine. Much nippier than you might expect for its modest price. That’s all down to the AMD Ryzen 5 5600G processor, which is a fabulous choice for a system such as this thanks to its six cores, 12 threads and seven Radeon graphics cores.

Integrated graphics means that PCSpecialist need not waste any money on a discrete card, but if the Spark R’s performance in your games benchmark at 1080p – then it’s simplicity itself to add your own card. A lovely full-size Gigabyte board sits ready and waiting, along with a further three PCI-Express slots and three empty DIMM sockets. Filling the latter with another 8GB stick of DDR4-2666 memory is another obvious upgrade.
