AT HER HISTORIC ANCESTRAL HOME BELVOIR CASTLE THE DUCHESS OF RUTLAND IS AN OPEN BOOK AS SHE TALKS CANDIDLY ABOUT HER EXTRAORDINARY LIFE IN A NEW AUTOBIOGRAPHY

Fairytale Belvoir Castle sits high on a hilltop, surrounded by acres of gardens and woodland. With its turrets and towers and countless stately rooms, it’s not hard to see why it has played a starring role in some of our most popular historical dramas.

However, when the film crews descend on her Leicestershire home – as they have frequently over the years – you’re more likely to find the 11th Duchess of Rutland, Emma Manners, skulking in her office than fraternising with the famous.

“Whether it’s The Crown or Young Victoria or Little Lord, all of them help fix your roof, so once we’ve sorted out the contract, I spend a lot of time hiding, carrying on with my day job,” she tells . “I’m not looking to meet the stars, I just want to run the business.”
