MATTHEW HIRST: THE BIG STEP FORWARD

The arrival of the R5 specification cars, along with the latest Rally2 machines, has made getting into the top league of national rallying easier than ever and the entry list of any significant event is dominated by these purpose-built four-wheel-drive rally cars.
