Halloween at Kenilworth

Warwickshire’s large romantic ruin has a decidedly spooky history that is being harnessed for All Hallows’ Eve

Built in the early 1120s by Geoffrey de Clinton, lord chamberlain and treasurer to King Henry I, Kenilworth Castle has a fascinating history. Extensively fortified by King John in the early 13th century, it endured England’s longest siege during June-December 1266. It later became a royal palace and was a favourite destination for monarchs such as Henry V, Henry VIII and Queen Elizabeth I.

Partially destroyed by Parliamentary forces in 1649
