Picture this: Mother's Day in So-Cal, a trip to the bakery early in the morning to get pastries, and there it was… One of the most elusive air-cooled VWs ever, parked on the side of the road less than a mile from home – a Brazilian 4-door 1600L of 1969 vintage. Ever seen one of these “in the flesh”? We hadn't until then.
