POWER SUPPLIES

The best power supplies are so much more than a dull black brick. They’re highly efficient electrical components, many able to deliver power in excess of 1,000W with little variance in voltage. That’s the lifeblood of your PC, and if you think of all the drives and processors that require a steady stream of power, your PSU has its work cut out for it.

Being such an important component, we tend to look past the bargain basement PSUs. It’s very rare that one has been built to a high standard as we need it to be. That’s not to say we haven’t considered some budget options, they just might cost you a small amount more than another seemingly competitive unit. You get what you pay for, however, and when it comes to your PSU a bit more cash can make for a much more reliable unit.
