MARKING SOANE BRITAIN’S 25th anniversary this year is a new collection which draws on the richness of one of the world’s most ancient cultures: Egypt. Launched in September, Egyptomania takes in fabrics, furniture and lighting which reflects influences from thousands of years of Egyptian history. Among the new designs is Filigree Flower, a romantic fabric of cascading flowers and leaves reminiscent of ancient tomb paintings, and Rumi, an intricately symmetrical linen designed in collaboration with the British-Syrian artist Yasmin Hayat.
