DEAD END

THE APOCALYPTIC ZOMBIE – sorry, Walker – drama reaches its conclusion this month after a mammoth 11 seasons over 12 years and 177 episodes. But it’s not really the end – with several spin-off series either currently airing (Fear The Walking Dead and Tales Of The Walking Dead) or in production (Daryl, The Walking Dead: Dead City and the untitled Rick and Michonne series). But it does still feel like the end of an era… SFX sat down for a (sort of) farewell with the producers of The Walking Dead, Angela Kang and Greg Nicotero, and Chief Content Officer of the Walking Dead Universe, Scott Gimple.

What’s it like being so close to the finishing line of the final eight episodes?

It’s surreal, because it took a long time to film all 24 [season 11 episodes]. And we finally got to the production finish line, post is still going. There’s still a lot of celebrating to do, the episodes are still yet to air. I’m just enjoying these
