What inspired you to do the Camino as a family? Jeremy: As our kids got older and more independent, Louise and I started bouncing adventure ideas around. Getting ready for bed, I would say, “Lou, we must do the Orange River!” Or, while packing away groceries, she'd ask, “Hey, did you see that article about the Giant's Cup Trail? We need to do that!” Or “Let's hike Marble Baths in the Drakensberg this weekend!” and “Do you think the boys could do a two-day mountain-bike race?” (We did all of the above, the way…)

I guess the Camino was just a natural progression. It's a well-travelled route and something we could do on bicycles – a fun element for the kids.
