The 2022 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship was one of the most hotly-contested championships in living memory and it wasn’t just in one class either. Both the 450MX and 250MX titles went down to the final round at Fox Raceway, after some of the most incredible battles that’ll be talked about for years. Australia’s own HRC Honda racer Jett Lawrence successfully defended his 250MX title from his older brother and team-mate, Hunter Lawrence, and good mate, Jo Shimoda (Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki). The 450MX title was only settled by a mere seven points as Monster Energy Star Yamaha Racing’s Eli Tomac and HRC Honda’s young talent, Chase Sexton, went hammerand-tongs for the entire season.
450MX - THE CLOSEST CHAMPIONSHIP IN DECADES
THE BEST BATTLES
It didn’t take long for the premier championship to boil down to a two-horse race between three-time champion Eli Tomac and Chase Sexton. They continued to push each other’s limits, culminating with an almost incomprehensible 1m 17s gap over third-placed Christian Craig (Monster Energy Star Yamaha Racing) in the heat at Pala’s final round.
