The kid was special; anyone could see that. He was just17, still at school, but already the finest footballer in the Danish first division when I first saw him in the summer of1982 playing for Brondby in a1-1 draw with B93.

Michael Laudrup was the name – and this magazine was the obvious place to announce his talent. So, I tapped away where it appeared 40 years ago this month.
