NEW TERRITORY

With an acting career spanning five decades, Susan Sarandon has racked up six Emmy and five Oscar nods. After starting out as a model before working as an actress on soap operas, the star, who turns 76 on October 4, has since demonstrated a knack for choosing complicated and thrilling roles – including Atlantic City (1980), (1991), (1992) and (1994), which earned her Oscar nominations before she won for (1995).
