Orchard Agri: 100 years old and still growing

Please tell us about the history of Orchard Agri.

The company started out as a general dealership in De Dooms in the Western Cape in 1922. Called Orchard Suppliers at that stage, it gradually specialised in the sale of agricultural supplies and inputs. About a decade later, it opened a second branch in Worcester, 34km away. This had better infrastructure and served a bigger community, and in the 1960s the original branch was closed down.
