The utopian design ideals at play in Seaside, the very first community to embrace the paradigms of New Urbanism, have made the community renowned worldwide, much of that largely due to its immortalization in the film The Truman Show. In that movie, however, the town’s pristine backdrop served to advance a story about artificial living, but in reality that couldn’t be further from the truth. Seaside’s pedestrian-minded streets and common-language houses give the town coherence and a strong sense of place. Life doesn’t get more authentic than that. seasidefl.com
