What would happen if you refused to pay your energy bill?
Q I have never been much of a rebel, but my energy bills have shot up to more than £200 a month which, like many others, I am struggling to pay. I saw press coverage of a campaign called ‘Don’t PayUK’, which is calling for people to cancel their direct debits to energy companies from October 1inabid to get them to reduce bills to a more reasonable level.
I am tempted to join this, but what would be the implications?

This campaign has received much publicity, but, tempting
