Dandelions

As Linda drove into the school car park, she spotted some dandelions growing through the cracks in the tarmac. Tall and straight, they looked more like miniature sunflowers than the lowly weeds Peter had cursed.
Peter, the tutor on the gardening course she’d completed last year, hated dandelions, or Taraxacum officinale to use their Latin name.
Most of her classmates disliked learning horticultural Latin, but Linda enjoyed it.
