Wildly romantic

Elmore Court, Gloucestershire

This 13th-century, Grade II-listed country house has been home to the Guise family since 1274. The family now hosts bespoke weddings amid the glorious surroundings of the estate, part of which is currently being rewilded: there is a definite bohemian atmosphere here. Indoor ceremonies are held in The Hall, but the 13th-century Elmore Church is less than a mile away and there are plenty of further options, both inside and out.

For the afterparty, guests may head to the Gillyflower: this is the ultimate party room, which has been sustainably built and holds up to 200 guests for dinner and dancing (40 of whom can sleep at the house overnight). There is always something new at Elmore: don’t miss a dip in the wild-swimming pond and there are six treehouses coming in 2023 (01452 720293; www.elmorecourt.com).
