Why is Windows duplicating my desktop on another laptop?
Q Both my laptops use Windows 365 and OneDrive. If I create a desktop icon on one laptop, it appears on the other one, too. However, when I click one of these duplicate icons, Windows often tells me that the path doesn’t exist. If I then delete that useless icon, it also deletes the working one on my other computer. I realise I have probably done something to make this happen, but how do I unlink my laptops so each machine has its own desktop? Alternatively, how do I get the duplicate icons to work? Thanks for your cracker of a magazine. I never do anything without checking your advice first. I am 81 years of age and enjoy all that modern technology has brought.

It’s a version of the operating system that exists entirely online, and users access it through any compatible web browser.
