Block ads using AdGuard’s Manifest V3 tool

Google is making a controversial change to the way extensions work in Chrome (and therefore other Chromium browsers). As of January 2023, developers will be required to use a system called Manifest V3, which is supposed to make extensions more secure, but also limits the number of ‘rules’ your browser can support. This poses a particular problem for ad and tracker blockers, which often use tens of thousands of rules to filter unwanted content from web pages.

To pre-empt the change, AdGuard has created the first ever ad blocker built, though officially it’s still an experiment.
