aving covered the topic of oyster mushrooms in my previous missive, ( 20 July), bracket fungi seemed an obvious sequel. For the sake of this article, I define ‘bracket’ fungi as being any fungal fruiting body that grows on trees and that is not any sort of mushroom. Diminishingly few of these are edible, but as far as I know, none are seriously poisonous.
