NEXT WEEK, THE attention of the trialling world focuses on Byrecleugh Moor, high in the Lammermuir Hills in the Scottish Borders. Part of the Duke of Roxburghe’s Floors Castle Estate, it has a well-founded reputation for offering some of the finest grouse shooting in Scotland, while on a clear day it offers commanding views south to England and the Northumberland National Park. It provides a suitably stunning location for this year’s IGL Champion Stake, the pinnacle of the pointer-and-setter trialling year.
