ree family history website FamilySearch () has launched a collection of parish and civil records from the department of Hautes-Alpes in south-east France. The collection consists of 4,560,838 records dating from 1583-1902, and includes births, marriages and burials plus digitised images. The people featured include Claude-Sylvestre Colaud, a general under Napoleon Bonaparte and senator, whose baptism took place in Briançon on 12 December 1754.
