BIG hair. These two words belong together like Romeo and Juliet, Fred and Ginger or even Barbie and Ken.
But it wasn’t until the year that another famous (and big hair-loving) couple, Danny and Sandy, united in the film Grease that big hair really became a phenomenon.
In 1978 “big hair” was officially listed in the Merriam-Webster Dictionary. The definition: “Hair that is styled and teased to occupy an unusually large amount of space above and around the head.”
Big hair continued its rise to fame in the 1980s. Its most glamorous fans were undoubtedly the supermodels – think Cindy
