You begin this trail in the fine town of Kendal, which is well worth exploring. Start by taking the cycle path below Kendal Castle, before joining Natland Road, then taking National Route 6. Take National Route 70, where you’ll pass the National Trust’s Sizergh Castle. Then meander through Witherslack and on to Grange-over-Sands.
