CORNWALL POLDARK
W nationaltrust.org.uk/botallack In 2015, brooding Ross Poldark rode along the Cornish coast and onto our screens.
Historical drama series Poldark
follows a host of characters living through love, loss and war in 1783, all unfolding in captivating Cornish scenery. Penwith Heritage Coast and the surrounding areas are to thank for the stirring settings.
Although Poldark’s Nampara is fictional, you can head to Botallack Mine to see ‘Wheal Leisure’, the Poldark family business and the famous Crowns engine houses perched on the cliffs. Nearby is Porthgwarra Beach, the backdrop for many memorable scenes, including a fan-favourite in which Demelza watches from the cliffs as Ross takes a swim.
