Boarding the plane, I heard the engine whirring.
It was a bright and early morning in May 2022, and I was about to embark on a flight with Lucy Air Ambulance for Children.
It’s the only charity in the UK that flies children to hospital by aeroplane.
I settled into my seat, excited for the journey.
I worked in the charity’s office, doing PR and event planning, so I knew all about the life-saving flights made every week.
