AN IMPTOMPTU WAKE

NO one present at Arena UK on 8 September for the British Show Horse Association national championships will ever forget the extraordinary range of emotions and depth of feeling which swept over everyone when the sad news of The Queen’s death was released.

Without bidding or instruction, spectators, staff and officials – together with mounted and unmounted competitors – fi led into the arena to pay their respects. A dignified two-minute silence followed, before
