A LIVING STORY
The living room is the part of your home that makes the first and biggest impression on your guests. It’s also where you and your family spend the most leisure time, so it’s essential this space is not only beautiful, but that it says something about who you are, and the things you love.
This year’s living room design trends are driven by a desire for comfort, authenticity, and personal expression. This means bold colours and patterns, iconic mid-century modern furniture, curvilinear forms, and natural materials, that give homeowners creative freedom to design a space that says who they are.
1. INSPIRATION: MAXIMALIS MAND MID-CENTURY
This year, pared-back minimalism makes way for louder design styles that are all about telling a story with bold shapes and colours, and varied textures. Maximalism, which celebrates rich and intense colours, eye-catching prints and patterns, and bold sculptural furniture, is all the rage right now as the world slowly comes out of pandemic hibernation, while mid-century modern makes a comeback with iconic rattan chairs, curvilinear silhouettes, and spiffy metal details.
